Dear Costco...

Why do you sell such delicious items, get us all hooked on them, and then laugh in our faces as you swipe them out from under our feet... to only be replaced by Original mini Quaker Rice Cakes? bleehk
These delicious semi-healthy flavorful crisps are what get me through sandwiches without the mayo!

Please reconsider your "must-have-in-stock-always" ordering list, when buying items for your store.
Because I KNOW you don't want to witness the wrath of women all over the world who are trying to make heather eating choices for them and their kiddos.
~ Sincerely
Everyone who has gotten hooked on one-of-a-kind Costco goodies and now has to go without.

Okay, in all seriousness... please tell me that I'm not the only one with this problem.
I big puffy heart Costco, but nothing bugs me more then when I find something new that I LOVE, and then the next time it's gone!?
The helper-dude at my store said that they ARE ordering more, but don't plan on making them a regular item. So what's a girl to do? Blow the whole grocery budget on gluten free, way-healthier-then-normal, cheesy crisps?... or just hope that she finds something as yummy in the future?

*sigh*

If you are currently wondering...
1. Is this post REALLY about chips?
2.  Doesn't she have anything better to complain about?
or
3. Is she honestly back in middle school and putting chips ON her sandwich?

Then the answers are:
Yes.
No.
and HECK YES! Mmm
:)
Happy Thursday!

  1. YES! They need to keep those gluten free chips. I am going to go stock up if my costco has them.

  2. I love putting chips in my sandwiches though I haven't done it in forever! We snagged these at Costco and I thought they were delicious. The family didn't love them nearly as much as the Boulder Canyon Rice & Bean Chipotle Cheese chips--those are TO DIE FOR especially when served with hot artichoke dip!

But I do hate it when they stop carrying favorite items or only carry them seasonally like the Marie Callendar's cornbread mix. Grrr....

  3. Did you check a place like whole foods or sprouts?? they carry the boulder canyon brand!

and I think we've all had that problem. /sadface

  5. YOU FOR-REELZ- CRACK ME UP. I hate when a store does that. I will even drive out of my way just for that item. I so had intentions on hitting up Costco today, but by passed it to go to tai pan for Chartreuse green and torq. decor items.
    I <3 Costco too. winks-jen

  7. Hahah! This is a big issue for my teenaged son who always requests certain things found only at Costco and then doesn't understand the concept that they somehow now don't carry them this week! Blah!!!!

Such a funny post about a serious issue! (hah!)

  9. um so YES I totally agree. Costco did that to me over the holidays with their Molasses cookies in the bakery section. They baked them, sold them, and then took them away from me. I'm bitter :) but thinner I am sure of it.

  10. Um...I'm still complaining about the blueberry granola crunch things that did away with almost a year ago. They were delicious. And I'll miss them forever. Really, I will.

  13. I just had this conversation with my son today when we were at Costco! They used to have Mario Batali pasta sauce 2 jars for $8. They sell one jar for $8 at Whole Foods! Now they don't stock it anymore. I should have stocked up when I knew they had it. I will be extra diligent next time I find a product I love!

  18. LOL! Just yesturday I was at Costco thinking the same thing...it is like they wait till you decide to make a special trip over to their store and then they hurry and remove it from their shelves and discontinue the item.
...Or my personal favorite...move the item to the other side of the store.
I remember when they did this with diapers I was so ticked...I guess they don't realize the hassle of hauling in two kids in diapers along with a hurt back only to realize you have a good 30 minute walk around the store trying to figure out where in the heck the new location of the diapers it. LOL!!

  19. I have never seen those chips at our costco. but if it would prevent me from putting miracle whip on my sandwiches i'm all for it. maybe. i love miracle whip.

  21. I have had this problem. The good news is if you have a big freezer chips can be frozen. Yes, you did read me correctly they can be frozen. It doesn't make them soggy and you can eat them the second you pull them out of the freezer, they are just cold. So stock up until your little heart is content.

  22. I hear you! They took away Jiff Peanut Butter from my picky eaters, and replaced it with Skippy.

  23. Oh my goodness... I can't believe you posted this day! I was going to buy an adorable navy blue bunk bed from Costco for my twin boys, and today when I went on to buy it, POOF! They took it off today, and now I have to find new bunks! Not happy!

  24. LOVE that you stuff chips INSIDE the sandwich..Doesn't it make it 1000 times better YUMMY!!! WISH I had a Costco close. I have to drive an HOUR to get to one aughhh!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Funny! Have you tried the Bbq pop chips, they are really good and totally healthy and lowfat! But you have to have self control with them!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, I just had torilla chips in my sandwich today. All the cool kids are doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes! I have the same problem! So I just buy all of them that I can eat... and make them last :/ If that means I'm eating veggie straws for a month so be it! But, I do have that problem, and it in a way discourages me from wanting to pick up something new... and, I so eat chips on my sandwich, and ALWAYS will :)

  28. your last 3 statements were too funny! I felt the same way when HEB quit carrying my Ocean Spray Cranergy. I drink it every morning with my protein bar. UGH! I finally found it at the nearest HEB only 15 miles away! Woo hoo!

  29. YES!! I love their sweet potato fries...but then they vanished! Uggh! Why do they do that? It totally happens a LOT!

  30. This has happened to me too with delicious "Martha Stewart" Tomato Soup. What was more aggravating was that when I asked about whether they were ordering more I was told they never had it in the first place. So, I guess I imagined buying and devouring it on several occasions, my bad! I do love Costco though.

  31. hahahaha......I always put Doritos on my sandwiches!!!! It is always on our grocery list too. too funny!

  34. AMEN. I love those cracker/chip thingys!

Our local Bellingham, WA store does some test runs of newer products so I always hold back on giving my whole heart to a new product lest it be a one-time-purchase-Wham-Bam-Thankya-ma'am :)

  35. Dear Costco,
Why did you put a "future home of Costco" sign up on the corner of 104th South and Bangerter Highway? Then never build anything and eventually take the sign down altogether? No offense, Costco, but your store in Sandy blows. Horrible traffic jams in the parking lot and half the things I have on my list....you do not have on your shelves. I know darn well they are stocked in all your OTHER locations. Yeah, your Sandy store blows. There are hundreds of thousands of people are living in this southwest section of the valley and you refuse to put a store here? I only go to Costco a couple of times a year now that I've moved out this way.
    Sincerely, Carolyn in Bluffdale UT
    P.S. Please re-stock Shelley's puffy chip-thingies so I can try them too!

  36. HA! I had to laugh when I read this, because this SAME THING just happened to me TODAY! Last week I tried some Tree Top Ochango juice (orange, cherry, mango) SO YUMMY! Today... GONE! I couldn't even find it at Wal-mart! GAH!!!!! I feel your pain!

  42. You read my mind. I have been cursing Costco lately! My biggest complaint is that they sample something, I get hooked, and then a month later it disappears!

    ReplyDelete
  43. sometimes costco has riceworks chips, they are really good and gluten free. they have the sweet chili which is a little spicy and really good. they have them at walmart too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Make sure you send a message to Costco as they track consumers who request items after they are rotated out. Hopefully they will bring them back!
