Valentines Day Card Ideas for Boys

We get a lot of emails around here, but my all-time favorites have been the ones with requests that Cason and I have a little boy so that I will share my decorating ideas for the OPPOSITE sex. LOL.
Of course they're joking and I hate disappointing anyone but unfortunately, we're officially done having kids, so there's no sight of a little dude in our future, sorry!
That being said, I've taken your suggestions to heart and actually agree with you! It's not that I don't come across adorable boy-themed ideas often, it's just that I don't think to share them (silly me), so I'll try to get better at that... starting TODAY!

While doing a Google image search for "unique Valentines Day card ideas" I came upon these funny/cool, more "dude-geared" ones and I thought I would share.

This one just made me laugh. Come on, wouldn't this be perfect for a boy who wants to hand out SOMETHING on Valentines Day, but still thinks "love is gross"?
:)
Happy Valentines Day Sucker! (haha!)

Our littlest has been in preschool for THREE years straight now. We expected 2 years, but then this past year we realized her birthday fell just so, that she missed the Kindergarten cutoff date by only a few days and has now ended up doing yet another year of preschool! Cason and I joke about how she's our "Preschool Pro"
:)
The below Valentine card reminded me of one that she got last year in her class from a little boy. I can't remember what the exact saying was, but this one is adorable too. To be honest, it was her favorite little toy for weeks and she hauled that tiny car around with her wherever she went.
Don't get me wrong, the smiley kid holding out their fist in a photo, so that it can strategically be cut to include a lollipop later is cute, but this "I've been shot by cupid" version is hilarious and definitely more 'goofy boy' friendly.
This last one is just plain creative and fun. A few heart-shaped pieces of paper, little candies, staples... and WAM, you've got an awesome, unique Valentines card. You can download these exact printables here, but really, they can work with any type of decorative/colorful paper if you want.
We're not allowed to have unwrapped candy in any of our cards at the kids' school, but this could work with Starbursts or small wrapped chocolates too, I would think.
For those of you who have little guys that are giving Valentines cards out this year, have you seen any creative ideas that you're going to use? I'd love to hear about it or see them!

  1. My 11 year old son just finished making his valentines tonight. I printed them on camouflage paper and he did the rest. They say "Love is a Battlefield" and he duct taped army men on them. Perfect for a 5th grade boy and he was so proud that he made them himself. Here's the tutorial we used: http://www.creatingreallyawesomefreethings.com/valentine-daysayings/

  4. Those are so cute! I might have to try one of these. As a mom of three boys, thanks for thinking of the guys! I have to admit I skip over the girly stuff because your mind just doesn't go in that direction when you don't have one. Well, except the tutus. I really want a reason to buy a tutu!

  8. Thanks for sharing!!! As a Mom of 4 boys, I'm always looking for good ideas. Hadn't seen the Mr. T or the shot by cupid versions yet. May be using one of those this next year. :)

  9. I am so glad you found these ideas to share. I have a 10 year old boy. I could totally see him handing me out one of the last two.

  10. I also have a preschool pro! He is not fond of the mushy gushy love stuff so I designed him some fun cards to give out. If you want, you can check them out in my etsy shop: frommewithlovedesign.etsy.com

  11. Super cute! We also only have girls - I can see why it's easy not to think to feature things for boys. :)

  12. I'm using an idea I saw on Pinterest (of course!). Bought some sour gummy worms and worked up a cute card on picmonkey that says "I really DIG you." It's cute and boyish but not lovey dovey! :)
