Think Spring – Decorating with Flowers
This past week it reached a little over 60 degrees here! I didn’t have to wear a coat and the sun was shining. It was awesome!
It definitely got me in the mood for some Spring decorating and so that meant a trip around the net to get inspired. I know we all look at pictures, like the one below, and think —
“My house could never be decorated like that!”
But guess what? Take away the colorful pillows and accessories… and you’re really only left with a neutral rug, white couch and coffee table. Sounds pretty obtainable now, right?
Even though you may not want an all white room with colorful accessories, my whole point, is that if you break down a space by pieces, it’s actually pretty easy to get a similar look in your own home!

One of the first things that caught my eye in the photo above were the beautiful pink flowers on the coffee table. They make such a statement!
I love how even just a simple, colorful display of flowers can brighten up a space and make it look so much more cheerful and seasonal, depending on the type of flower and color you choose.
We have a lot of people ask us for advice on how to change up their homes look for different seasons, without spending a lot of time or money, and colorful, vibrant flowers are one of the best ways; especially for Spring.
I loved looking at all the beautiful pictures that Alison Royer posted a couple years ago when she styled one of her clients living rooms.
Her floral arrangements in the space were perfect and really complimented all the other great elements in the room.
This gorgeous arrangement using peonies by Martha Stewart has got to be one of my favorites.
You can check out the entire how-to video on her site, to see how to make your own.
If you don’t do much of anything else to decorate for spring this year, at least take a few minutes to pick up some fresh flowers (or really great looking faux ones) and display them somewhere in your home, so you can enjoy their beauty all season long!
There’s just something about an arrangement of beautiful flowers that does some good for the soul.

I was just ruminating over what to put on my dining table (spring inspired, of course). I want simple, yet bright and cheery. I'm going for daffodils, hyacinths, primulas and whatever else tickles my fancy at the nursery. Throw in some moss and maybe some natural elements reminisent of nests and/or sticks and voila! I love love love decorating with flowers (and plants for that matter, too!!).

I simply love the flowers in the jars. I am so ready to decorate in spring colors and some bright colors around my house. It was so nice to be able to go out without gloves, winter hat and coat.

Placing flowers in the large jars is a wonderful idea! Elegant yet country and something post people have on hands that's a completely different styling! Great inspiration!

So beautiful! It does seem to add up quickly to keep a fresh bouquet in your house….but that being said it is still much cheaper than new curtains, pillows, and most other options =) Thanks for the tips and you're right….breaking down the picture makes it feel more achievable!
