Adoption Rocks! + Sage & Harper Bags
Josh and Jamie started their family after they were married and had two of the cutest boys; then a little over three years ago they had the amazing experience of bringing home their first, adorable daughter, and Aubrie’s dearest friend Zoe, from Rwanda. Now just shy of a month ago, after a ton of anticipation, OUR little family had the opportunity to actually be part of the most amazing event, of when Josh and Jamie were able to welcome home another new family member into their lives, who was born in Ethiopia…
It is so amazing to see what it’s like for families and couples to be able to finally welcome home a new child into their lives after all of the heartache of infertility, and time and sacrifice of saving up the money to even afford adoption, or procedures like In Vitro Fertilization.

Incredible post. What an amazing family. As the mother of an older adopted daughter, I can tell you adoption is life changing. Our daughter joined our family as a foster child at age 7 (we were able to adopt her two years later and now she is 10 (we are celebrating her 1 year anniversary later this month!). She has made our lives so much fuller and everyday we learn something new about her and ourselves. Adoption does rock!

I was so impressed that I showed up to your yard sale to benefit adoption over the summer, and Jamie was so sweet to introduce me to her family. I'm ecstatic that the sweet baby girl she told me about is home, and happy :). What a special friendship. I look up to you ladies so much.

My husband and I have struggled with infertility or 10 years. We have never been able to conceive a child of our own. We pray that in the next 5 years the doors will be open for us to adopt through the foster system here in the states. We can't wait to be parents, but we are also praying for peace if we don't become parents. Adoption is amazing. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story!

I loved this story. My husband and I recently had our first daughter. We both know we want to expand more in a couple of years and are heavily debating adoption as a way to complete our family. Those girls are adorable!

I have followed your blog for over a year now, watching you transform your home, watching your beautiful daughters grow, watching your struggle with and triumph with weight loss, being envious of the talent you an Cason seem to just ooze from your pores, building the nerve to do some fun DIY-ing of my own (Starting with the entry closet this month inspired by your Entry closet transformation from long ago) but not one time, no matter what I saw, read, or was inspired by have I left a comment. I am not a comment snob, I have plenty to say (Just ask my Husband and kids!) But I guess I just never really felt the need to shout out before.
Well Mr & Mrs Smith and your beautiful Children, I am shouting now. This is the most amazing thing I've seen on your blog. I know families who have been completed by this wonderful struggle/gift that is adoption. It's a blessing for so many.
I've just found my Christmas shopping all in one place. I am buying a Messenger bag for my Mom, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Best friend, Best friends Daughter (Who has 2 beautiful ADOPTED special needs children of her own), Dear sweet friend who has adopted 2 gorgeous, happy little girls from China, one for my Daughter and one for myself. I truly do hope they sell out of these bags and have to make more over and over and over again.
Thank you Smith family for being such an inspiration to so many!

What a wonderful storyβ¦ thank you for sharing! Adoption is wonderful, and I think whether or not you can have children it's an option everyone should consider. π

Some people choose to adopt even if they can have biological children because God calls us to care for the orphans. Adoption doesn't just happen bc of infertility issues. There are so many orphans in this world and we are all called to care for them in some way. Especially through adoptions with families with biological children too.

Beautiful post! My husband and I have been struggling with starting a family for almost 3 long years now. Adoption may be in our future, but the costs are just staggering. π It's so unfair.
