Raising Emotionally Healthy Children - Million Moms Challenge

...Turn off the radio, put down the cell phone and ask your kids questions! Open communication, even at age 5 is like a window of opportunity to shape and mold a child's character and emotional health. When they understand better why things are the way they are, they're less likely to question them later on. And in return, they tend to act more logically, rather then emotionally about certain situations.

Read my full article on tips I've learned during motherhood about raising emotionally healthy children, over at the Million Mom's Challenge site. Just for joining in on the conversation you have a chance to win an exclusive Million Moms Challenge Gift Pack, which includes an iPad2, a custom-made Million Moms Challenge pendant and a $50 donation in your name to Global Giving!

  1. Loved your article. I was amazed to learn how awesome your car ride conversations could be. I never would have guessed that's where a lot of my why and how questions would be answered a long with the laughs and tears. I honestly cherish every car ride that I get with my sweet boys :)

  3. That article was one of the most impressive parenting articles I have ever read. You struck a chord with me as I am a young mom to a highly emotional almost 3 year old girl. Thank you for reminding me that her temper tantrums - no matter how intense and frustrating - are sometimes rooted deeper than just what I see on the outside. I love how you said you have pictures of everyday things actually printed out and placed around your home - I'm going to do that!! Anyway, thanks again. Your article was fantastic.
